A globally recognised voice in sustainability, Eva Kruse is the CEO of Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), the world’s foremost leadership forum for industry collaboration on sustainability in fashion. Kruse founded the non-profit organisation with a mission to mobilise the fashion system to change the way we produce and market fashion.
Through working with the United Nations, European Commission and many international foundations, Kruse strives to drive awareness and action on sustainability with the aim to safeguard the future of our planet.
GFA works closely with its Strategic Partners, currently counting the industry leaders ASOS, BESTSELLER, H&M Group, Kering, Li & Fung, Nike, PVH Corp., Sustainable Apparel Coalition and Target.
The organisation is renowned for hosting the landmark annual event, Copenhagen Fashion Summit. 2019 marked the Summit’s tenth anniversary and provided a forum for a vast range of stakeholders, from CEOs to politicians to manufacturers from across the globe, to convene and collaborate.
Under Kruse’s leadership GFA has also accelerated the industry’s transition to a circular fashion system through its 2020 Commitment, which has been signed by 12% of the global fashion market. Earlier this year, she injected fashion into the sustainability conversation at the World Economic Forum, for the launch of the CEO Agenda.
The work of GFA has captured global media attention and Kruse regularly calls for action on sustainability via platforms from CNN to The Guardian to New York Times.
Kruse has received several accolades for her contribution to sustainability. In 2017 she was awarded the Human Rights Prize by the French Embassy, and in 2019 she was honoured with a Royal Order of Chivalry by the Danish Monarchy.
Travis Peoples is the Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), the foremost leadership forum for industry collaboration on sustainability in fashion.
As COO, Peoples is responsible for day-to-day operations and strategy to ensure the organisation effectively delivers on its mission to mobilise and guide the fashion industry. He also oversees production of Copenhagen Fashion Summit – the leading business event for sustainability in fashion.
Spurring industry-wide commitment to sustainability, Peoples leads GFA’s engagement with its Strategic Partners – currently counting the industry leaders ASOS, BESTSELLER, H&M Group, Kering, Li & Fung, Nike, PVH Corp., Sustainable Apparel Coalition and Target.
Throughout his career, Peoples has focused on strategic planning, brand positioning and operationalising efforts to drive sustainability. Prior to joining GFA, Peoples has held leading positions at the Boston Consulting Group and Adidas. Peoples holds a Law Degree (JD) and MBA from Duke University, and a BA in Philosophy from The Ohio State University.
Morten Lehmann is Chief Sustainability Officer of Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), the world’s foremost leadership forum for industry collaboration on sustainability in fashion.
An established expert in sustainability, Lehmann leads the content team and is responsible for GFA’s core publications including the Pulse of the Fashion Industry report and the CEO Agenda. These publications provide insightful research on the social and environmental impact of the fashion industry, guidance on how fashion brands can improve their performance and further cement GFA as a thought-leader in sustainability.
He works closely with GFA’s strategic partners – currently counting the industry leaders ASOS, BESTSELLER, H&M Group, Kering, Li & Fung, Nike, PVH Corp., Sustainable Apparel Coalition and Target – in order to ensure the prioritisation of sustainability at a highly strategic level.
Lehmann also shapes the content for the renowned annual event, Copenhagen Fashion Summit – the leading business event for sustainability in fashion. This year marked the Summit’s tenth anniversary and provided a forum for a vast range of stakeholders, from CEOs to politicians to manufacturers from across the globe, to convene and collaborate. The Summit advocated focused industry efforts and created joint commitments to transform the fashion industry.
With over 20 years’ experience in sustainability, he has formerly worked for and advised governments, the UN, NGOs and corporations in Asia, Africa and Europe. Prior to joining GFA, Lehmann held senior sustainability roles at Maersk, Danish Ethical Trading Initiative, IC Group A/S and others. He has experience in the fashion industry on both a corporate and brand level – developing partnership strategies and flagship programmes, responsible value chain management and CSR communication.
Lehmann is an experienced speaker and is widely a recognised as a respected voice within the discussion of sustainability. He is often cited in leading publications including Forbes, The Guardian, The Business of Fashion and The Times.
Jonas Eder-Hansen is Public Affairs Director at Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), the foremost leadership forum for industry collaboration on sustainability in fashion.
As Public Affairs Director, he leads government affairs, policy and related stakeholder engagement, and the creation of impactful industry commitments on both a regional and international level.
Eder-Hansen spearheaded GFA’s 2020 Circular Fashion System Commitment, which called upon the fashion industry to take urgent action on circularity. The commitment was signed by 12.5% of the global fashion industry. Eder-Hansen also actively works with policymakers to align regulation and policy agendas with fashion industry interests.
Furthermore, he shapes the content for Copenhagen Fashion Summit – the world’s largest event on sustainability in fashion. The Summit provides a forum for a vast range of stakeholders, from CEOs to politicians to manufacturers from across the globe, to convene and collaborate.
With a long career in sustainability, Eder-Hansen is regularly interviewed by media to provide his expert insights on the key issues. Eder-Hansen was formerly Development Director for Danish Fashion Institute. Prior to that, he was Research Director at the CBS Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility, where he was a major driving force in the establishment and development of the now internationally acclaimed research centre.
Malou Wedel Bruun is the Communications Director at Global Fashion Agenda. In this role she is responsible for reinforcing the organisation’s position as a leading global authority on sustainability in fashion and ensuring that its core message is reflected across all communications platforms and in media.
Wedel Bruun is driven by positive storytelling, aesthetics and human community. She grew up in a fashion, literature and music-loving family, and with her lifelong love and deep respect for the art of fashion along with her sense of humanity, she finds sustainability the only way forward. Something that she has been agitating for many years through her former position as editor and Editorial Director at ELLE Denmark.
She holds a Master in Danish, Rhetoric and Modern Culture Studies from The University of Copenhagen, and off duty she still takes time to review contemporary literature for different medias, like she did for ELLE Denmark.
Beatrice Perlman Ewert is the Director of Global partnerships at Global Fashion Agenda (GFA). In her role she leads the work with the organisation’s partnerships: strategic and associate partners as well as sponsors for Copenhagen Fashion Summit and CFS+. She brings over 10 years of business experience from the fashion industry, from both the high street and luxury segment, of which she dedicated the last five years to sustainability.
Before joining GFA, Perlman Ewert was working as responsible for sustainability steering and development at the H&M Group and as part of its global sustainability management team. Amongst other things she was working with developing the group’s sustainability strategy and securing implementation of the same. Perlman Ewert holds a Master of Science in Economics and Business from Stockholm School of Economics, with a major in International Economics.
Alice Roberta Taylor is Senior Communications & PR Manager at Global Fashion Agenda (GFA). In her role she works to raise awareness about GFA and communicate its mission to make sustainability fashion’s first priority. She regularly engages with international media to secure publicity and manages the content creation across GFA’s communications platforms and CFS+.
Driven by the belief that effective communication has the power to make a real impact and spark change, Taylor strives to convey messages that can inform and guide leaders to take action.
Taylor has a combination of in-house and agency communications experience related to fashion, sustainability, media and retail. She first joined GFA in 2019 as PR Manager. Prior to this, she managed the publicity for Hearst UK in London for established media brands including ELLE UK and Harper’s Bazaar UK. Most recently, she managed the PR for multiple retail and hospitality clients at Stripe Communications and also led the PR for the viral fundraising campaign Run For Heroes.
She holds an MA (Hons) in History from The University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Amanda Bjerva joined the Global Fashion Agenda as Communications Assistant in August 2020. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies from Trondheim in Norway and is currently enrolled in a MSc in Strategic Communication at Lund University in Sweden.
Next to her studies, Bjerva has volunteered in communications teams for several student organisations, both in Norway and Sweden. She has always had a passion for sustainability and fashion, so she is excited to combine her passion with her background in communication.
Casper Strande is Senior Production Manager at Global Fashion Agenda (GFA). He is leading the planning and execution of all production-related aspects of Copenhagen Fashion Summit, and other events delivered by the company.
Prior to joining GFA in 2018, Strande worked in radio and TV, including larger productions as Radio24syv, X Factor and The Voice.
Strande holds a PB in Media Production and Management from The Danish School of Media and Journalism and a BA in Communication and Digital Media from Aalborg University.
Celestine Schwabe-Spile is Senior Commercial Manager and part of the Global Partnerships team at Global Fashion Agenda. She is responsible for sponsorships around Copenhagen Fashion Summit as well as the ticket sale.
Schwabe-Spile has a background in both the FMCG and fashion industry and comes from a position at Rambøll in London, where she worked as a Project Management Consultant for both internal and external clients in England.
Schwabe-Spile holds a Bachelor of Business Administration & Economics as well as a Master of Science in Supply Chain Management from Copenhagen Business School.
Christina Iskov is Senior Programme Manager and part of the Global Partnerships team at Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), where she manages the innovation team. She has oversight of several GFA programmes within the Global Partnerships function, including: Innovation Forum, Design Studio, Matchmaking and Youth Fashion Summit.
Iskov has worked in the fashion industry for several years, both for Copenhagen Fashion Week and Danish Fashion Institute. She addresses sustainability issues by working with innovative and emerging solutions covering the supply chain.
Iskov holds a Bachelor in Business Administration and Commercial Law from Copenhagen Business School and a Master in Design Management from the Danish Design School Kolding, where she wrote her thesis about GFA’s position in the fashion industry.
Cleshawn Montague is the Digital Communications Manager at Global Fashion Agenda. In her role, she oversees social media management, digital storytelling, and website maintenance. As part of the communications team, she adds firepower to our ever-growing digital presence.
Montague brings extensive marketing and content management experience from the fashion and interior design industries in Los Angeles and New York. She has worked for companies such as Bloglovin’, MTV Networks, Condé Nast, and Loomstate. She holds degrees in Linguistics and Merchandise Marketing.
Dana Schou is Director of Development at Global Fashion Agenda, the foremost leadership forum for industry collaboration on sustainability in fashion.
In her role, Schou leads the organisation’s development strategy to mobilise and guide industry leaders to take bold and urgent action on sustainability. Schou has experience in collaborating with foundations, philanthropists and corporations on strategic programmes and partnerships.
Formerly a Director within the Partnerships and Philanthropy Directorate at the United Nations Children Fund, Schou spent 10 years in global marketing and communications for numerous Louis Vuitton-Moët Hennessy (LVMH) brands. She is passionate about bringing people and organisations together to create change.
Schou sits on several non-profit boards focusing on female empowerment topics such as maternal health and microfinance. She is a speaker, facilitator, assessor and ambassador at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and has lectured at ESSEC, IE Business School and University of Geneva on sustainability communications, cause marketing, gender equality and cross-sector partnerships.
Felicity Lammas joined the Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) as a Sustainability Assistant in August 2020 to further pursue her interests in the sustainability field. In her role, she will be supporting the new and existing GFA reports and commitments including the CEO Agenda and the 2020 Circular Fashion System Commitment.
Lammas is currently studying her undergraduate degree in Fashion Marketing BA (Ind) at the University of Leeds, England. Prior to joining GFA, Lammas completed a one-year placement at online retailer ASOS as the Sustainable Fashion Intern working across the Product Integrity, Circular Economy and Supply Chain teams. During the summer, Lammas also interned with the Material Innovation Initiative and the Open Apparel Registry.
Florinda Pamungkas is a Digital Designer at Global Fashion Agenda. As part of the communications team, she is responsible for creating graphics and implementing visual directions that complement Global Fashion Agenda’s communications output.
Pamungkas is passionate about using creative skills to support initiatives that catalyze progressive change, and prior to joining GFA in January 2021, she worked with Danish organization Sex & Samfund (“Sex & Society”, ed.), using her experience in design and motion graphics to enhance campaigns, content creation and storytelling.
Pamungkas holds a BA in Graphic Design from IED Madrid, Spain, and an MA in Communication Studies and Cultural Encounters from Roskilde University, Denmark.
Gabriele Zemaityte joined the Global Fashion Agenda as Global Partnerships Assistant in August 2020.
Zemaityte started her journey in the fashion field with her AP degree as a Fashion Designer and a BA degree in Sustainable Purchasing from Copenhagen Business and Design Academy. Following, she has worked within sales and customer services, visual merchandising and operations management in the retail industry.
Zemaityte continues her journey, as she is currently studying her Master’s degree in Social Entrepreneurship and Management at Roskilde University.
Gizem Arici joined Global Fashion Agenda as Sustainability Intern during Spring 2018 and is now working as Sustainability Manager, where she supports the team on the 2020 Circular Fashion System Commitment, the Pulse of the Fashion Industry and the CEO Agenda.
Arici holds a Master´s degree in Fashion Marketing and Management from the Swedish School of Textiles – University of Borås and a BSc in International Fashion Retail from Reutlingen University in Germany.
Holly Syrett joined Global Fashion Agenda as Senior Sustainability Manager in May 2020 to mobilise and guide the fashion industry to take bold action on sustainability.
In her role, she is responsible for researching, project leading and writing new and existing GFA publications, commitments and reports such as the CEO Agenda.
Syrett brings 10 years of experience working on sustainability and transparency programmes in the fashion industry for both public and professional audiences.
Syrett is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, Climate Reality Leader and she holds a BA in Fashion and Branding from the Amsterdam Fashion Institute. As part of the Global Shapers’ Community, she co-founded the Shaping Fashion movement that is now active in 50+ cities worldwide.
Kerry Huang is Chief of Staff & EA to the CEO and COO at Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), providing support to the leadership team in executing pivotal organisational initiatives and driving special projects. As Chief of Staff, Huang is responsible for managing and coordinating cross-functional priorities in order to help GFA deliver on its vision of mobilising the fashion industry to take bold action on sustainability.
Prior to joining GFA, Huang was a Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group, specialising in the Fashion & Luxury sector. She has advised clients on End-to-End Go-To-Market process development, branding, digital marketing, and e-commerce strategies across various markets in Americas, EMEA, and APAC. Since launching her first startup, a jewelry company, as a teenager, she has always been interested in understanding effective supply chain processes, exploring the mechanics of good design, and evaluating emerging solutions to address sustainability.
Huang holds a Bachelor of Economics in Finance, Statistics, and Operations & Information Management from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania.
Laura Spangsberg Poulsen is Production Coordinator, working with various tasks in the production of Copenhagen Fashion Summit. She started at Global Fashion Agenda in February 2019 as an intern and has now continued on as a student assistant.
Poulsen holds a Bsc in Business Administration and Project Management from Copenhagen Business School and is currently studying her Master in Strategy, Organisation and Leadership.
Maria Jæpelt Petersen is Senior Corporate Communications Manager at Global Fashion Agenda. In this role, she is responsible for the development and delivery of all communication regarding the organisation’s publications and various stakeholders including Strategic Partners, sponsors and the government among others.
Petersen has worked with communications in the fashion industry since 2012, first with the Danish designer Vibe Johannsen and later at Copenhagen Fashion Week and Danish Fashion Institute.
She holds a BA in Intercultural Market Communication and a Master in Management of Creative Business Processes, both from Copenhagen Business School. She wrote her master thesis about Danish Fashion Institute’s work with sustainability.
Maria Luisa Martinez Diez is Senior Public Affairs Manager at Global Fashion Agenda. She is responsible for managing the organisation’s policy engagement strategy and for ensuring concrete results according to its targets. Her work includes formulating policy recommendations and relationship-building with the relevant governmental and non-governmental stakeholders.
Martinez Diez holds a Master’s degree in EU politics and law from Sciences Po Paris and brings over 8 years of experience in public affairs in Brussels. Most recently she was leading the agri-food department of the Brussels-based consultancy EURALIA working in the fields of circular economy and sustainability in the supply chains including the fashion and food industries.
Maria Samsøe-Schmidt is Global Partnerships Coordinator at Global Fashion Agenda. In her role she coordinates the work with sponsors as well as strategic and associate partners of GFA and provides support on projects for Copenhagen Fashion Summit/CFS+.
Samsøe joined GFA in 2017 as Business Development Intern and continued on to coordinate and facilitate various programmes of Copenhagen Fashion Summit/CFS+, before moving on to sponsors and partnerships in January 2021.
Samsøe is currently studying a BA in Intercultural Market Communication at Copenhagen Business School. She holds an AP degree in Global Entrepreneurship, Design & Logistics from Copenhagen School of Design and Technology. In addition, she has a background in retail at some of the biggest Danish design brands before pursuing her sustainability journey that began within the sphere of concept development, marketing and branding.
Molly Polk Hannon is the PR & Editorial Manager at Global Fashion Agenda (GFA). In her role, Hannon oversees all of GFA’s editorial content. As part of GFA’s communications team, Hannon works directly with the press to secure media placement and promote GFA’s efforts to guide and mobilise industry leaders to take bold and urgent action on sustainability.
Leveraging a background in journalism along with ten years of working as an editor, Hannon’s background has allowed her to develop a knack for identifying stories before they break, successfully navigate the international media landscape, and execute effective communications strategies. Her work as a writer has largely focused on the intersection between the arts and politics and has appeared in outlets such as, The New York Times, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, among many others.
She holds a Master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in foreign affairs from the University of Virginia.
Oliver Gliese is Innovation Forum Coordinator. He supports the Global Partnerships team with the operation of the Innovation Forum, during Copenhagen Fashion Summit. Gliese has worked in the Fashion industry for several years at the brand Ganni.
Gliese is currently studying a Bsc. in Business Administration and Project Management at Copenhagen Business School.
Sandra Gonza is the project manager for the Circular Fashion Partnership at Global fashion Agenda (GFA). As part of the GFA content team, Gonza is responsible for the planning and implementation of the new circular textiles project focused on the Bangladesh fashion ecosystem.
Prior to joining GFA, Gonza worked at Fair Wear addressing the labour rights violations within textile supply chains. She worked with fashion and sports brands to find innovative solutions to improve working conditions within factories. Gonza is passionate about sustainability and is keen to see brands transform the fundamental practices woven into the fabric of the fashion industry.
Tyre Loe joined the Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) team in August 2020 as a Sustainability Assistant and will support in the research and development of new GFA publications, commitments and reports such as the CEO Agenda.
Loe has first-hand experience from the Danish fashion scene and after working in the industry for several years within the areas of apparel designer, sales and production, Loe decided to further pursuit her interest in sustainability. She is currently enrolled in the Master programme Social Entrepreneurship and Management at Roskilde University. Furthermore, Loe holds BA degrees both in Sustainable Fashion and in Biology.
